Satsuma province has a very long tradition in sword making and dates back to the koto period.  This long and hefty blade is constructed very well.  The hada is a very tightly forged itame with masame and many Ji-nie are visabel. There remains an Umegane that's was professional repaired in Japan long ago, other than that the sword is absolutely flawless.  The hamon has a very pleasant thick nioguchi mixed with nie.  Many hataraki and Ara-nie are seen throughout the hamon.  The sword is in excellent polish.
