This massive sword made by a very well known school from the shinshinto era is a rare find.  The mounts are original to the era that this sword was made.  The mounts appear to be the first and original koshirai for this very long sword.  This sword is 30" long and flawless!  The amount of activity (hataraki) in the hamon and  the beautiful hada is extremely enjoyable to view for a collector of fine swords. I tried my best to take very good images of this sword so please have a look at the full blade.  The images should show exactly how well made this sword is.  Its not easy to find such a long sword to begin with, but also add to this the quality of this blade and its mounts and its easy to understand why this sword is a rare find.

Information on the Aizu Kanesada school;

In early Shinto times, Kanesada of Mino province moved to Aizu (in Iwashiro province) where he was employed by the Gamo clan. His family was prosperous, and lasted for eleven generations, through Izumi no Kami Kanesada of Shinshinto times. The jihada is mokume-hada mixed with masame-hada. The hamon is suguha and gunome midare in nie deki, but the nioi-guchi is not very bright. The boshi is ko-maru. The nakagojiri is iriyamagata that resembles kengyo, and the yasurime is kiri.
