This set appears to be a Meiji or Taisho period Daisho.   The Koshirai is in very good condition, no damage on ether of the saya at all.
The are lacquered (possibly restored in Japan years ago) in a stone texture that is very nicely done.  No Kodzuka or Kogai come with this set.  Both Tsuka have a high grade Same and are wrapped in a leather string Stukamaiki that is rare to find nowadays.  The Tsukamaki (handle wrap) is also in top condition.  This Daisho is not a fancy set, but is more subtle and elegant.  The matching Fuchi are Shibuichi, and the kashira are horn.  The menuki are Cheri blossoms and are in great condition.  The matching Tsukashi tsuba are also in good condition and add to the overall beautiful koshirai.

The Katana has an Owari or Mino look to it and is in a nice older polish that is very clean, no rust or staining at all.  The sword is long at 27", no flaws or problems.  The hada is very beautiful and the Hamon has many Hataraki.  It is Nioi deki and has Sunagashi, Nioi kuzuri,  Ashi and other nice activity to enjoy.  This is a fine Katane on it own.

The Wakasahi looks more Mino and is also in a good old polish that is in great shape.  Two small openings in the hada are slightly visible, nothing major like Kizu (blisters) or flaws on this sword.  The Nie deki hamon also has many Hataraki that are very clearly visible and enjoyable to look at.  This nicely made Wakazashi is made in Unokubi-zukuri style, making it even more interesting and a fine complement to the Katana.

This Daisho is being offered at a reasonable value to make for a quick sale for the owner.  If you are interested in it please let me know as soon as possible because I feel that it wont take a long time to sell at this price.
