TAMEIE RIHEINOJÔ [KAN'EI 1624 BITCHÛ] SHINTÔ JÔSAKU

                He is the younger brother of Saburôhei Kunishige, is called Kawano Riheinojô, and people say he was called Asabe Mizuta.  His works are gonome togari ha or gonome midare, and all of them have muneyaki.

Mizuta school

Swordsmith's living in Mizuta in Bitchu province are known as Mizuta school.  It is thoght that they are descendants of Ko-aoe Tametsugu and Kunishige from Kyoroku era.  In the shinto period the top smiths were Asai Mizuta, founded by Kono Rihei Tameie and the Otsuki family, who used the name Kunishige for many generations.
