Showa jyu ni nen (1937) ni gatsu hi (one day in February)

Also, and very interestingly you will find carved in the nakago "Hami muteki"  (tasty sharpness no enemy) in other words "No enemy to challenge this sword"

This sword is in a war time polish and is a hand forged gendai.  It is not a mass produced sword that would be oil tempered and it has no arsenal stamps, so it is hand forged and water tempered.  The overall condition is good on this blade and would be a nice addition to any collection with the rare inscription on the tang.  The hamon is well made but hard to photograph.  It is clearly visible in hand and is a graceful looking gunome.  The blade is carved with grooves (hi).  There is some minor staining on the blade but no serious rust.  The sword is very tightly forged and has absolutely no flaws in the forging, nor are there any chips in the cutting edge.  Overall a very interesting gendai-to.
